RCLFA is a member of the Johannesburg Football Association governing football within its SAFA designated area. RCLFA enables the promotion of structured football through the development of players, coaches, referee’s and administrators. The JFA is in turn a member of the Gauteng Football Association.
RCLFA run structured football from U6 through to Veterans teams within our jurisdiction. The U6 to U10 leagues are non competitive and festivals are played in-between weekly fixtures between clubs. From U11 and older, leagues are run for each age group that cater for the various levels of teams within the Association.
The 2024 season saw the launch of our Championship competition for U12/U14/U16/U18 age groups. Clubs have to enter each of those age groups in the calendar season and play home and away with all 4 age groups at one venue for fixtures against an opposition club. The 2025 season we had to two Championship leagues of 9 clubs each. What does 2026 hold for this very popular competition?
Our league season runs from March to October each calendar year, except for the Senior Premier League which runs parallel to the JFA Senior season from October to May. The Vets have both a Summer and Winter Season.
We administrate and facilitate around 63 different competition structures between league and cup for all these age groups and sectors during a season. A total of 10,420 players are registered with RCLFA during a calendar year.
